Christmas Star

Kelly made this Christmas Star for her front window.  She purchased 5 yard sticks from Home Dept at $.69 a piece.  Then she bought a pack of nuts and bolts ($1.18) to put it all together.  She used a strand of white lights she had to wrap around the star.
Here is the view of the star from the road.

Monster Windows

This month Kelly got a jump on Halloween.   After seeing this on Pinterest she decided to do her own version.
Kelly purchased black poster board at the Dollar Tree.  She had chalk and tissue paper on hand so she went to work creating some fun monsters.
The whole craft was less than $4.00 - love it!  So simple, so fun.

Clothespin Magnets

Kelly got inspiration for this project from one of her friends.
She used scrapbook paper, clothes pins, glue and self adhesive magnet strips.
She cut the scrapbook paper to size and glued it onto the clothespins.  Then she cut a strip of the self adhesive magnet strips and attached it to the back of the clothespin.  She set a couple of heavy books on top of it so it would really stick well.
Cute, easy project!

Redesigned Furniture

Kelly also gave these garage sale finds a fun make over.  She used Rustoleum spray paint, in the color Lagoon, and gave them both an overall coat to make them pop!

Paint Chip Art

Kelly is working on finishing her basement and has finished some projects this month to get closer to her goal!  She gathered a bunch of pain chips in the coral color family and cut them into triangles.  Then she arranged them in an ombre layout and glued them to a canvas.

Card Books

This month Kelly made card books so they are easier to save and to look at again.  She saw the idea originally here.
She cut out pieces of cardboard, decorate them, punched holes in them and cards and used book rings to put it all together.
So far she put together 3 books and did them by themes.  One booklet is cards from her parents, another is cards from her bother and family and the 3rd is cards from when she lived in Spain.

Refurnished Footstool

Kelly found this footstool at Collectamania in Des Moines.  It has a little storage compartment which was great, but the fabric was not.  Kelly had some fabric on hand that worked much better so she recovered the stool and used a staple gun to fasten it.
Works much better with her chair.
And a perfect size to be tucked under the chair, which is a great space saver in her cozy living room.

Towel Hangers

This month Kelly made some towel hangers out of antique door knobs and back-plates.  She was inspired by her friend that did the wall by her front entry door all of door knobs.  Here is that inspiration picture:
For hers, Kelly removed the door knobs from the spindle, found a short bolt to screw into the spindle and then it was secured to the back plate.  The whole things was then mounted on the wall using screws (EZ Anchors) through the back plates.
