"Super" Glass Etched Mugs

For my brother in law's birthday I took a set of 4 glass beer mugs and glass etched his "Family Logo" into them:)  I cut the design out of vinyl on the Silhouette and then weeded the part I wanted to show up.  I then placed the vinyl on the mugs and applied the glass etching, waited 45 minutes (it says you only have to wait 15, but longer seems to be better).  Then I scooped the excess back into the container, took up the vinyl and washed them up.  They came with a case of beer - they were a hit!

Reusable To Do List

This month Allison took an 8x10 frame and put a piece of decorative lined scrapbook paper in it. She used scrapbooking stickers to add the "To Do" title and put start bullet points down the side of the list.  This will go up by the front door of her apartment with dry erase markers to add and erase items that she needs to get done.

Men's Red Vest

This month Vicki was able to complete sewing the red vest she has been working on for her spouse.

Watercolor Painting

This month Sharla tried out a popular pin she found on Pinterest: painting a canvas with watercolors, glue and salt.  Posted is her final product.  Here is one of the posts describing out to do this technique - fun for kids or adults!

Painted Cookies

I saw this idea on Pinterest. I made sugar cookies and frosted them white. I let them set overnight. Then we painted them with gel food color using paint brushes. Lots of fun for little ones. A good party idea!

Car Garage

My son likes to try to take his toy cars to bed with him. Bad part is they keep him up - he tries to play with them, runs them up and down the wall, then ends up rolling on top of them when he falls asleep.  I  noticed that he likes to put his stuffed animals "to sleep." So, I thought, if he had somewhere to put his cars to sleep, maybe they wouldn't end up in bed with him every night.
My daughter "donated" her shoe box for this craft.  I put the lid on the bottom of the box. I cut off the front panel of the box and used it to make dividers.  I cut a slit in the back and front of the box to slide in the dividers.
Then I used some fun duct tape that I picked up at Home Depot (great selection of designs!) to wrap the shoe box and divider to make it more steady and durable.  Since my son likes to tuck in his animals with a blanket I figured the cars should probably have a blanket too.  I took some extra felt I had and cut it with pinking sheers so that it would have a fun edge to it.
Overall, my son is enjoying this greatly.  He has it placed on his bookcase and part of our bedtime routine is to now tuck his cars into bed before he gets into bed.  First thing in the morning he "wakes" them up.  Very cute.

Heat Transfer Gifts

We had a cousin that gave birth to twins last month so I made these onesies as part of their gifts.
Some family friends had little girls celebrating their 4th and 1st Birthdays this month so I made these t-shirts.  I was happy to be able to use more pink glitter heat transfer!

Customized Stickers

For Christmas I told my kids they would each receive a book a month from "Mom's Book Club."  I received some sticker paper for my birthday and decided to try my hand at making some stickers with my Silhouette.  I used the same book work I used for the Wordy Thirty Party Decorations in December.  I put the worm in a circle, made another circle and added the wording.  I printed them out and then cut the designs on the Silhouette.  Worked pretty slick.  So each month I am adding one of these stickers to their books.

Dollar Store Prop Piece

This month Vicki was a character actor in a ballet.  For her part she needed to have long hair in a bun, which she does not.  She picked up a wig at the Dollar Store and then formed it into a bun by stitching it together.  It was more red then her hair color, but worked great since she also had a bonnet that she wore over the top of it.

Pink and Brown Baby Blanket

I made this blanket for a good friend of ours and their new baby girl.  I used the same pattern as the purple and pink one.  The yarn had a different type of variegation and makes the blanket look a lot different.

I think she likes it!

St. Patrick's Day Shirt

I asked my daughter if she wanted to have a shirt for St. Patrick's Day and showed her some of the designs I had purchased from Silhouette.  When she saw this one there were holes in the font for "PROOF."  She asked if I could put rhinestones in those holes. I said, "You bet kiddo!"  So here is the final product.

Scrap Flower Canvas

This month Kelly made this flower canvas with scrapbook paper she had on hand.  She painted a canvas  grey.  Then cut 3 different size petals from various scrapbook papers she had.  The she started in the middle and with the small ones and worked her way out.  She glued them down with a glue stick.  She found the idea for the project here.

Vinyled Container

I had some cookies to drop off at school for the PTO lunch, but when I got to school I realized that my name was NO WHERE on my container and of course I didn't have a Sharpie in the van.  I ran home and decided I could do better than a Sharpie, so I pulled out my Silhouette and my huge PILE of vinyl and cut out a WHOLE bunch of different sized circles and my saying and stuck it on.  Of course, it took longer than expected with a toddler at my feet, or climbing on the table, or whatever else he thought he should be getting away with while I tried to get this done.  It turned out GREAT!  I want to vinyl everything!

Happy St Patricks Day!

For Christmas I got an awesome pair of "Kiss me I'm Iowish" underwear from one of my best friends as a funny gift.  (from American Apparel)  My Husband and I thought this was perfect for St Patrick's Day but unfortunately they don't make shirts of it and since I can't really wear my underwear around Sunday..I made our own!  I used iron on letters and patches.
